Three-day trip to Otavalo, Chota and Ibarra

We will spend a weekend in the colonial city of Ibarra and visit the Afro-Ecuadorian communities in Chota and the famed marked of Otavalo.

You may not resist the temptation of doing the shopping for the Holidays in this colorful and picturesque indigenous street market full of inexpensive handicrafts such as silver jewelry, traditional tapestries, wooden sweaters, blankets, and all the typical Andean products you can imagine. But try to save something for the next stop: Cotacachi, a nearby town where you can go crazy about its well-known and inexpensive leather.
