Andrea (she/her/hers) is a PhD student in the Spanish Linguistics program at Georgetown. She is originally from Catamarca, Argentina, and she joined Georgetown University in 2022.
Andrea graduated with honors from Universidad Nacional de Catamarca with a BA in Teaching English as a Second Language. In 2018, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to teach Spanish in the United States. She went to Williams College in Williamstown, MA, where she performed both the role of Spanish Teaching Assistant and culture ambassador. She earned a MA degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Universidad Europea del Atlántico in 2019 and a MA in Spanish as a Second or Bilingual Language at Michigan State University in 2022.
Andrea was the director of the Teletandem project for Spanish learners at MSU in collaboration with la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Her research interests include language exchange programs, learners’ identity, language ideologies, bilingualism, community engagement and language and social justice.G
