Alejandro Yarza is associate professor in the Spanish and Portuguese Department and Core Faculty of the Film and Media Studies program. He teaches Spanish film, contemporary Spanish literature and critical theory. A native of Spain, he received his doctorate from the University of California at Irvine. Primarily, his research deals with the relationship between culture and politics in Francoist and post Francoist Spain.
