Pilar del Río is a Spanish-Portuguese journalist, writer, translator and, currently, the president of José Saramago’s Foundation, in Lisbon. She was the wife of José Saramago from 1988 until his death, in 2010. In 2017, she was awarded the Luso-Spanish Arts and Culture Prize at the National Library of Spain.

Ana Paula Arnaut is a Professor of Contemporary Portuguese Literature at the University of Coimbra. In addition to publications in several national and international journals, she has also published O Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis de José Saramago (2017), José Saramago (2008) and

Memorial do Convento: History, Fiction and Ideology (1996).
