Ecuador 2006

I will remember my time in Ecuador for the rest of my life. There are very few programs that take you to places like the Andes Mountains, the Amazon Rainforest, and the Galapagos Islands all in one trip. What I in fact liked best about the Quito program wasn’t our travels across the country, but rather living with a host family—this is what let me see the true nature of Ecuador.

Not only did I leave Ecuador with a better handle on the Spanish language, but also with lifelong friends. Choosing to attend the Quito program was one of the best decisions I have made since coming to Georgetown. The program provided me with an opportunity to gain an understanding of Ecuadorian culture through the home stay program as well as an opportunity to travel and enjoy the incredible diversity of the country. From swimming with sea lions and hiking in the Amazon to swapping recipes with my Ecuadorian mother, the experiences I had during the Quito Summer program were unforgettable.
