Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, is currently accepting applications for membership by Monday, March 6, 2017.
Undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible if they:
Have a minimum GPA of 3.3.
Have completed 2 upper-level Spanish courses, numbered 230 or above, at Georgetown or in a Georgetown program abroad, one of which is in literature or culture and civilization.
Have an average of 3.5 in Spanish courses from Advanced or Intensive Advanced and above and no grade lower than a B.
Graduate students are eligible if they have completed 15 credits of graduate courses in Spanish, including two literature courses, and have a B+ average. Those who are already members of another chapter are requested to contact Professor Francisco LaRubia-Prado at firstname.lastname@example.org
Election to Sigma Delta Pi is based on scholarship in general, a high level of attainment in the study of Spanish, a genuine interest in things Hispanic, and professorial recommendation. If accepted, the student must attend the initiation ceremony in early April. A one-time dues charge of $25 includes certificate and pin.
Please submit a hard copy of the application form and an unofficial Georgetown transcript to the mailbox of Prof. Franciso LaRubia-Prado in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, 4th floor in the ICC room 403.
