MCI Creative Writing Short Story Workshop – November 3 – 19, 2020

The Mexican Cultural Institute of Washington, DC (MCI) invites you to participate in a creative writing workshop based on the work of the Latin-American Boom and other authors.

All participants will be able to identify and reproduce those particular literary techniques and structures used by the following writers, among others: Gabriel García Márquez, Amparo Dávila, Jorge Luis Borges, Maria Luisa Bombal, Julio Cortázar, Clarice Lispector, Felisberto Hernández, Elena Garro, Juan José Arreola and Laura Esquivel. By the end of the workshop we will have the general draft of a digital anthology of the best short stories penned by the participants.

The 6-session workshop is open to any person who is interested in writing fiction and will be led by talented Mexican writers Carlos Perez Samano and Luis Felipe Lomeli, every Tuesday and Thursday starting on November 3 and finishing on November 19 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm (DC), online via Zoom.

COST: $15.00 dollars per person
