Tris Faulkner Granted NSF Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Award

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese would like to congratulate Tris Faulkner, Ph.D. candidate in Spanish Linguistics, who was granted the National Science Foundation (NSF) Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Award (DDRI Award). The name of the project for which Faulkner obtained the award is A Systematic Investigation of the Spanish Subjunctive. The project will investigate the extent to which regional dialectal variation occurs in native speaker use of the Spanish subjunctive, as well as the meanings behind it.
