Prof. Solomon specializes in the remediation of medieval culture in film and digital media, and in the rise of participatory movements from the middle ages to the present.
Prof. Solomon is the author of Fictions of Well-Being: Sickly Readers and Vernacular Medical Writing in Late Medieval and Early Modern Spain(University of Pennsylvania Press 2010) and The Literature of Misogyny in Medieval Spain(Cambridge UP 1996), a book on the interplay between the discourses of love, disease, and misogyny in the Middle Ages. He has also published The Mirror of Coitus: A Translation and Edition of the Fifteenth-Century Speculum al foderi. He is currently working on a book-length project on Alfonso the Learned, visual culture, and the paradox of attention.
